Directions to fixture
Travelling from the South on Route 29. In Appomattox Route 29 splits and there is an option to take the 29 Expressway around Lynchburg. Do not take the Expressway. Stay on Route 29 Business. This will travel past the Lynchburg Airport. Soon after the Lynchburg Airport take US 460 West and follow about 9 miles to Route 668 (Goode Road). This will be a right-hand turn. Just before this turn you will pass a gas station and convenience store called Owens Market on the eastbound side of 460. Follow Route 668 about 5-6 miles to Route 221. Note the name of the road will change after driving over a RR bridge to Goode Station Road. Continue straight on road about .5 mile to Route 221. Turn left onto Route 221 and go 1.5 miles until just before the Big Otter Bridge. At the bridge turn right onto Roaring Run Road (Route 670). Follow Roaring Run Road .5 mile where road forks. Bear left at fork onto Hawkins Ridge Road and travel 2 miles to Oldenacres Farm (gravel driveway on left). Take left at driveway and continue up the drive to Rose Cottage on the left. Our home is to the right. Coming from the Northeast, there are a few ways to reach us. 

If you are coming from Interstate 81 the quickest route is to take 81 to Exit 188A and follow signs to US 501South. (This route will take you over the mountain and may not be a good choice in bad weather. Heavy rain can cause mud and rock slides. However it is the route many of us take when travelling to or from our area.) Follow Highway 501South to Big Island. Make a right onto Highway 122 South and follow for about 17.5 miles into Bedford. 

*From Bedford, take Highway 221 North about 9 miles past Otter Elementary and immediately after the Big Otter Bridge make a left onto Route 670 (Roaring Run Rd). Continue less than half a mile to fork. At fork bear left onto Route 637 (Hawkins Ridge Rd) and continue about 2 miles to our farm on left. A sign on the road reads Oldenacres Farm. If you decide not to take the mountain route you can opt to take 81 further south to Exit 150B. Here you will pick up Highway 220 towards US 460 and Lynchburg. 220 will lead directly into 460 and take it east towards Lynchburg. Bedford is approximately 20 miles up (before Lynchburg). Take the first Bedford exit (a left) and follow into town. This is Main Street. At the town’s center (the town square will be on your right) make a left. This road will become Longwood Avenue and eventually turn into 221. From 221 you can follow the directions above.
